My research suggests that (Australian) accountants need to first decide what "contact with customers" actually means and why they would want to do it. Once they've worked that out then they can decide what tools they might use to help them (if any).

Wouldn't it be nice if we could work and get paid and not have to deal with the fee issue at all? Some clients shop accounting services based on fees and then get surprised when they get what they pay for. If we generate a fixed fee, they want all k…

CRM Software for Iimproved Contact with Customer and Prospects

Our CPA firm is looking into moving to CRM software. There appear to be many choices offering similar but different applications. We have looked as a firm in how we plan on using the software so we have some of that figured out.

My internet research leads me to conclude there are few firms small/mid size firms who use is and yet the larger firms - top 50 and above seem to have mastered it?

You suggestions and recommendations are appreciated.

Is CPE training - education - seminars improving or still simply mediocre

I have always been confused with our accounting CPE programs. There are all kinds of scenarios that lead to chair warming and within minutes many of the participants become glazed as the presenter go's on and on about esoteric situations 99% of us never deal with and we accept this as CPE. This is typically capped off with the infamous statement of "today if you just get one thing it's worth the cost and time investment!"

I beg to differ. My clients would not only not pay my bill but would esco… Continue

Helping yourself - your firm - or coaching a client to success

It is funny because we accountants too often think the only way to do accounting is double entry working in dollars. Yet my most successful customers achieve great results with other measures. Here are a few ideas that can help YOU improve your organization.

• Do you have a clear and compelling strategic plan?
• Do your employees understand your strategy and the role they have to play?
• Do you track KPI performance every week using dashboards?
• Could you tell me the #1 Action you are going to… Continue
