My research suggests that (Australian) accountants need to first decide what "contact with customers" actually means and why they would want to do it. Once they've worked that out then they can decide what tools they might use to help them (if any).
Rob - Congratulations on joining! Would like to know more about what your company is offering CA's in efficienty tools. I truly beleive our industry is desperate for this but none of us know where and how to begin.
