Job Board Scams

We all get emails everyday asking us to be a broker is transferring millions of dollars from some royal subject in a far away land or to just click here to receive the lottery money we just one, well just when you thought it was bad enough there is another online scam happening and one that is very near and dear to me, Job Boards.

When I started Accounting Jobs Today over 2 years ago, I wanting to take my passion for helping accounting and finance professionals from a local level to a national level by creating a unique resource to bring both jobs and information about the profession online.

For others out there, creating a job board is an open invitation to take advantage of the millions of job seekers, people so desperate they would sign up for anything. One such site preying on the helpless is ShortTask.com. You can see from this job board industry site that the true professionals are not taking this sort of thing lightly. As Steven Rothberg of CollegeRecruiter.com pointed out "it is hard for me to believe that when a well respected site like Careerbuilder gets 18 recommendations that a no-name, scammy-looking site like ShortTask.com has already been recommended 193 times", you just know there is more to this story.

So the moral is be careful, be aware and if it sounds to good to be true, well you know the rest.
